Arrive early and stay a bit late so socialize and/or write a few postcards to Democrats in the area, inviting them to our next meeting.  You'll feel good about doing something to change things for the better every meeting.  The more people who know about our Club, the more likely they will become involved ~ or at least attend a meeting or two.  The more involved a community is, the higher the chance that we will be able to do some good and make real changes.
